Upper Dowry Creek to Buck Island

We woke up early this morning and left around 7:30. Today was mostly all canal. So it was rather boring.

But we hung out on the bow to escape the hot, sticky and buggy weather. We also went through the Alligator Bridge today. Zani called them on the radio for the bridge opening. The Alligator River Bridge is our favorite bridge on the ICW because they are always nice.

We anchored in a nice spot in Buck Island. We had anchored here before so we knew it was a good spot. It was simply beautiful there. Bright green marsh grass, deep blue sky's, dazzling sunset and a snow-white heron stood in the grass watching us as a flock of birds flew over head. It was quite a nice spot.

We were all hot and sticky and the water was so warm we decided to go for a swim in the water. The water was brown and you couldn't see past your waist, but we all went in for a quick dip and cooled down anyway.

So all in all it was a good day. Not very exciting though. But the afternoon with the sunset was really pretty.
Signing off,
Victoria
